Alexander Wilkie - Lead Accordion and Piano
Alexander (currently attending the University of Edinburgh) has played accordion for many years (not always on the 120 bass though) becoming a keen participant of the Lochaber Music Festival. He plays accordion with a group of students in Edinburgh, branching into the "folk" genre, bringing a modern style to the band.
Line-up
Euan Wilkie - 1st Fiddle, Guitar, Mandolin, Bodhran and Vocals
Euan has toured with the Lochaber Ceilidh Trail and is a keen frequenter of the Royal National Mod. His other band, Westerly Gaels, achieved great aclaim in the Lochaber area. In his spare time, Euan teaches fiddle to youngsters in the Spean Bridge area. As if that wasn't enough, he performed as part of Celtic Connections 2010 along with the one and only, the left-handed fiddler Anghois Grant.
Christina Wilkie - Clarsach (Celtic Harp), Flute and Piano
The proof that the revival of the clarsach in the 19th century was not a waste of time! Also a regular entrant in the Lochaber Music Festival, playing flute in Lochaber Schools' Wind Band. Highly valued for keeping Euan and Alexander under control!
Martainn Skene - Piano, Cello, 2nd Accordion and Guitar
Classically trained cellist, ex- National Children's Orchestra of Scotland, and convert to Scottish traditional music. Takes his influence from the West Coast ceilidh bands and plays piano for a Scottish dance class. Arranges most of the music, so "we graciously allowed him to join our band"!
Alasdair Strachan - Bass Guitar and Double Bass
Alasdair has played double bass in the Highland Regional Youth Orchestra, and continues playing at Dundee University. He has been a member of the Lochaber Music School, a weekly gathering of talented local musicians, since a very early age, and went to Norway in 2005 with them. He won the double bass competition at Lochaber Music Festival 2009.
The band would like to say a big thank you to family and friends for their continued support
